September 12: Resiliency: Avoiding thinking traps

- Presenter: Student Success Specialist Chelsea Lafferty
- A part of resiliency is understanding Thinking Traps and how to avoid them or escape them. In this session, we will define and briefly discuss ways to navigate some of the most common Thinking Traps. This is based on research and trainings from the PENN Resiliency Lab!
September 5: Communication Simplified- Talking with Professors

- Presenter: Student Success Specialist Will Eill
- Communication really is the key to life – at this workshop you can see different ways to communicate with important players in your life. Nervous to ask your Professor about a missing assignment or difficult concept? Hesitating to ask for an interview? Not sure how to start the email? Come to the workshop for real life examples. Use your self expression to create helpful relationships with your Professors and bosses, not exhausting ones.
August 29: Time management v procrastination: The Ultimate Showdown

- Work through different time management approaches and learn about the root causes of procrastination. Maybe it’s not as bad as you think!

- Advisors from the Academic Success Center will present a short workshop on getting organized for the semester- how to interpret your syllabi and use it to your advantage, organizing due dates, understanding and tracking your grades, and finding your motivation.

- Snacks will be provided
- Curious about executive functioning? Dr. Kaur will speak about what executive functioning is, how it impacts all of us, and the tools we can each use to help us be our best selves for ourselves. There will be tools and concepts that you will be able to put into use right away.
Self-Care or Self-Sabotage? How to Tell the Difference.

- Daily, we are inundated with messages about “self-care” and what we should be doing to care for ourselves. Self-care is not one size fits all and it’s sometimes harder to distinguish between what’s actually good for us and what just feels good in the moment. Join as we take a deeper look into self-care, self-soothing, and self sabotage.
- In this workshop, we will learn several exercises to ground ourselves, regulate our nervous system, and check in with what is working and not working for us. There will also be goodie bags, giveaways, and a raffle!

- Unlock your financial freedom with Financial Wellness 101! Join our workshop where you’ll learn personal finance skills tailored for college students. Learn about positive money spending & budgeting, credit card management, saving, investment, and federal student loans. Seize the chance to control your finances.

Declassified Adult Survival Guide. April 17
- A round-robin style event! Four different short workshops will run simultaneously in different spaces four times over the course of the event. Stop by, grab some popcorn, and go watch a workshop! Then at the first intermission, grab some more refreshments before heading into another workshop. Pick which topics you are most interested in! Watch all four, or just one- you pick!

We will be discussing all things representation, setting boundaries, and advocacy to help you thrive at your place of work. Also included will be discussion on navigating microaggressions, micro affirmations, and self-worth in the workplace.
